Levels Diploma A
Level 1
- being comfortable in the water
- able to "swim/ move underneath a floating mat
- float on the belly and back.
- basic leg stroke on the belly and back.
These subjects will be executed without floating aids.
Level 2
- to perform a technically correct leg stroke with the aid of a plank. (floating aid called 'plankje').
- the same applies to the back stroke.
- to perform a general combination of arm and leg strokes.
- be able to float above the water for at least 2 seconds.
- to use the front crawl and back crawl to move a few meters in the water.
- to swim underwater through a sail with a hole.
- to jump off the side in the water independently
All these parts are performed with or without a cork floating aid around the waist.
Level 3
- to jump off the side in the water independently, with the head going under water
- to perform a technically correct combination of arm and leg strokes on the belly while being able to float.
- the back crawl
- treading water
- to use the front crawl and back crawl to move a few meters in the water, with emphasis on leg movement.
- to dive underwater and subsequently swim underwater through a sail with a hole.
All these parts are performed with or without a cork floating aid around the waist.
Level 4
- to jump off the side in the water independently, with the head going under water
- to perform a technically correct combination of arm and leg strokes on the belly while being able to float
- the back crawl
- treading water
- to use the front crawl and back crawl to move a few meters in the water, by using arms and legs.
- to dive from a floating mat
All these parts are performed without floating aid.
